Some thoughts about Intel’s £80 Safaricom Yolo smartphone





Intel announced last week its first entry level smartphone design, the Yolo, which is based on the Intel Atom Z2420 processor, and will be sold to Kenyans first via mobile phone operator Safaricom Limited. The phone costs 10,999 Kenyan Shillings (around £80) and comes bundled with 500MB data.

Intel-powered Asus Fonepad 3G version confirmed





The first Asus tablet to use an Intel processor is coming soon, and it’s going to be called Asus Fonepad. Of course, we’ve heard about this before, but now the Global Certification Forum is confirming it, leaving little doubt that this will be the new device’s name when it hits the market.

HP Chromebook Confirmed: Available Now For $329





We already covered the leak, and now we've got the confirmation we knew would come. HP has officially announced the HP Pavilion 14-c010us Chromebook. Quite the name, eh? Specs are unchanged from before, with 2GB of RAM, Intel's Celeron 847, a 16GB SSD, and that 14-inch 1366 x 768 display.

Safaricom sold out through its initial inventory of 5,000 Intel Yolo phones in less than 14 days. The phone, a product of Intel and Safaricom's research was launched in Kenya on the 24th of January, 2013.
