Hot Chips Intel has released more details about its upcoming Clovertrail+ system-on-chip (SoC) platform for smartphones, and its enhancements appear to provide a big ol' boost above and beyond the company's current smartphone chip-wannabe, Medfield.

Intel launches anti-Qualcomm and Nvidia offensive with Prestigio MultiPhone 5320 Android smartphone





European phone maker Prestigio has launched its new Intel-powered MultiPhone 5430 smartphone in the UK. The MultiPhone is the third Intel-powered smartphone to arrive in the UK, following the legacy set by the Orange San Diego and Motorola Razr I.

Intel confirms it is shipping its new wireless data chip this month





An Intel executive confirmed that the company is on schedule to ship its newest LTE wireless data modem later this month in a move to challenge Qualcomm’s leadership in the vast mobile data networking chip market.

A closer look at Intel’s acquisition of Fujitsu Wireless





Intel has quietly snapped up Fujitsu’s wireless division in a bid to further increase its LTE expertise. Specifically, it’s purchased Fujitsu Semiconductor Wireless Products, an Arizona-based arm of the Japanese company that specializes in LTE RF (radio frequency) technology.

Intel Bay Trail-T to launch on 11 September





Intel’s new Bay Trail-T SoC appears to be ready for launch. According to VR-Zone, the new SoC will official launch on 11 September, giving manufacturers plenty of time to come up with cheap x86 tablets in time for the holiday season.
